About JCM Technical Management

The company was established in the early 1980's by John C Madden, a Professional (Chartered) Engineer. The company quickly established a reputation for competence and the ability to offer value to clients through innovative, cost effective solutions for complex Technical Safety issues.

As an ex Marine Chief Engineer and Chartered Mechanical Engineer John offers over 40 years of hands on practical experience, complemented by design, project engineering and safety skills. His career profile includes periods as a Marine Chief Engineer, Technical Manager, Project Manager, Expert Witness and his current role as a Principle Consultant.

A broadly experienced “all rounder“ he has worked continuously with Oil Majors, Drilling Contractors, EPIC Design Contractors, Specialist Consultancies, Solicitors, and various other service and design companies throughout the UK and Internationally.

In addition to the roles above he has also acted as client representative to the Health & Safety Executive [HSE], been a Chief Technical Safety Engineer for one of the worlds largest Engineering EPIC Companies and as an independent trouble shooter reviewing Risk Assessments and Risk based design decisions for one of the worlds largest Oil and Gas projects.

While the main thrust of the consultancy is in Technical Safety and Loss Prevention work, John has a personal interest in the application of Monte Carlo Simulation to Project and Commercial Risk Assessment.
